We determined that various magnets exhibit different magnetic field strengths.  We measured the fields outside of horseshoe magnets, bar magnets, and electromagnetic solenoids with different kinds of cores to make this determination.  We used a magnetic probe and compass to find the strength of the fields and the factors by which they are affected.
